The ‘Alta Sartoria’ collection from Dolce & Gabbana is a love letter to the subtle artistry found at the heart of Italian craftsmanship. The beauty of the Ostuni sun and the architecture of Puglia are harnessed here in each ethereal composition.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have created a moving collection of pieces that speaks to the love they have for their Italian heritage, with customs and personal traditions translated through fabrics and textures. For example, the designers were even inspired by the ancient custom of the Corredo, a bridal kit that mothers would start to collect for their baby girl after birth which over the years would include white linen tablecloths, nightgowns, bed sheets, and napkins of lace that are collected and presented to the child when she is married. This tradition is symbolic of the strength of tradition and honors the generations that have maintained a strong connection to their heritage throughout time. Each design of this collection is crafted with the same love and attention as the mothers creating a box for their children. Each detail is a reflection of their commitment to the brand and the legacy they have forged through it.

Items from the Corredo were acquired and repurposed for this collection. Each piece, conventionally gifted to a woman on her wedding day, is reconfigured into this unique line of menswear. Jackets, suits, and coats are composed of these intricate fabrics in a palette of classic tonal shades. Bridal white stands along pops of brown and the classic Dolce & Gabbana black. The lineup is clean and sophisticated, allowing the fabric to speak for itself. Embellished with embroidered gold thread, the pieces are a divine combination of skilled tailoring and artistic creativity.

The influence of Italy is strongly felt throughout the line. Grottaglie ceramics, originally from Ostuni, are incorporated into several of the looks. The personal touches are imaginative and embrace artisan technique. Like a moving sculpture, the handcrafted pieces offer an exciting look into the skill and creativity of Italian culture and design.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana show their reverence for their beginnings. The impressive designs are the perfect tribute to their family and the values they preserve through time.
