Double Dutch Taps Collage Artist Austin Call For Series of Grammy’s All-Star Digital Gift Cards
From Billie Eilish to Rihanna, Inez and Vinoodh and Duhrivative are fusing music, art, and charity for one cause worthy project.
Following Double Dutch’s Valentine’s Day series of celebrity smooches, the charitable digital art gift card hub, created by world-renowned photographers Inez & Vinoodh, ups the star power with a megawatt range of Grammy-nominated musicians to celebrate the arrival of music’s biggest night this Sunday. With the new range of cards joining the already existing library of art that users can select when making charitable donations through the form of digital gift cards on one’s behalf, the photographic duo teams up with Duhritive aka Austin Call for a new series of caricature collage portraits, of which whom Inez and Vinoodh have photographed, that fully transform your favorite musicians into new works of digital art to support charities of one’s choosing, including donating proceeds to institutions such as Care.org or World Central Kitchen as Double Dutch aims to match all donations made for Ukraine attack relief programs.
With a wide-spanning roster of music’s boldest and brightest, such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Lil Nas X, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Selena Gomez, and Laurie Anderson, the digital cards are relatively touching upon every genre of music to be awarded this Sunday evening. With nominations in categories such as Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist, the roster is celebrating the impact that these visionaries have had on the recent landscape of music while also giving back to worthy causes.
“As a queer person, social justice has always felt second nature to me. As a recovering addict, service is a cathartic step in healing and can often feel like the only way through. When I am presented with an opportunity to collaborate with such inspiring people as Inez and Vinoodh and their company Double Dutch, I don’t pass that up. Working with Double Dutch combined these two principles for me, of service and social justice, in a very concrete way.” says Austin Call exclusively to V, who first collaborated with Inez & Vinoodh back in 2020 as part of V Magazine’s V125 Special Artist Edition, an artistic remix of our supermodel print issue series where Call reimagined model Adwoa Aboah’s cover. “Having the opportunity to collaborate with, sort through archives, deconstruct and create new pieces from existing Inez and Vinoodh photos was beyond a dream and as I think more about it, parallels my coming out, queer and recovery story. The work began as one entity and transformed into something entirely different. They’re both valid, they just happen to exist at different moments in time.”
