Dr. Barbara Sturm Opens Doors to Her First Miami Outpost

Glass ampules and frosty vials of serum arrive in South Florida

Adding to her growing list of U.S. outposts this spring, Dr. Barbara Sturm has announced the addition of her latest skin spot arriving in Miami’s Design District, May 13.

“I’ve spent a lot of time in Miami in the past 20 years,” said Sturm in a press release. “I love the energy of the City and I wanted to bring the #SturmGlow to Miami for a long time!”

Found at the center of the Buckminster Fuller’s Fly’s Eye Dome installation, neighboring Baccarat the boutique and spa will hold fast to the unerring minimalism and unfussy ethos that underscore the squat pots of cream and frosted pipette bottles we’ve all come to know as her own. Designed under the eye of architect, Tobias Freytag, coming off a long tail of work for Sturm’s Los Angeles, Dusseldorf, and London haunts, he’s tapped that same faultless code of tall arches and clean angles, playing with shapes and snubbing color for Miami’s space.

Intended to be a place of education and heightened scientific advancements, the spa is set to preface Sturm’s next lateral move deeper into the medical facets of skincare – her Professional Line. Built on the back of potent ingredient science, the collection can only be purchased in-store and available after consulting with one of the spot’s expert aestheticians.

Arriving alongside the Miami/LA-exclusive Summer Facial – a fantasia of frozen hyaluronic acid ice cubes and a gritty then gentle enzyme cleanse, Sturm’s Professional collection draws a line under the science-cum-status of her products, picking up the promise of research-driven products. “We are exiting the era of marketing-based skincare and entering the era of performance-based skincare,” she said. “Skincare needs to embrace the individuality and diverse skincare needs of every consumer.”
