Dr. Martens Links Up With Sex-Pistols For A New Punk Collaboration
Featuring the low cut 1461 and the 1460 boot.
Dr. Martens have once again teamed up with the cult punk rock band Sex Pistols to create a range of punk-indebted leather goods. Comprised of the low cut 1461 and the 1460 boot covered with black and white graphics, the newest collaboration nods to the infamous 1976 Bill Grundy interview with Sex Pistols. This release is a follow-up to the first linkup between the band and the brand, which happened back in January and resulted in two parts of boldly designed 1460 boots.
The 1461 Oxford Shoe is fully covered in newspaper headline prints that reference the band’s controversial TV appearance on Bill Grundy’s show, where the band swore on-air and shocked the nation. The shoe comes with round black eyelets, white laces, a black heel pull with “AirWair” lettering and a smoothly rounded toebox. A blacked-out midsole is added for a final touch, creating a bold contrast with the white uppers. The high cut 1460 boots read “GOD SAVE THE QUEEN” on their toebox, with “ANARCHY” appearing at the bottom of laces to compliment the large print. The black midsole is detailed with contrasting white stitches, adding a nuanced accent to the rugged shoe.
Both styles from the Sex Pistols x Dr. Martens collaboration are slated to launch on April 11 on END., retailing for $60 and $184 respectively.
