Iconic footwear brand Dr Martens and luxury house MM6 Maison Margiela, have teamed up to create the newest, edgy staple shoe collection. Much in line with the punk aesthetic the two brands are known for, this new release, which launched on November 19th, includes a combining of their two distinct styles to produce two new boot designs and a pair of loafers.

At Milan Fashion week earlier this year, MM6 Maison Margiela showcased a first look at the capsule collection, which aims to reconstruct and merge four core Dr. Martens designs: the Original 1460 boot, the extra tall 1490 boot, the 1461 shoe, and the Penton loafer to form three hybrid silhouettes with an MM6 flair for the unordinary.

The first boot is a combination of Dr Martens 1460 and 1461 boot styles. The short boot contrasts the oxblood polished leather and black Virginia leather, retailing for $320 USD.

The second boot, which has an extra-tall length, is a reconstructed version of the 1490 with a bump toe edition of the 1461 shoe, designed to increase the curvature of the silhouette. It has a cleaner, monochromatic design with its all-black finish, also retailing for $320 USD.

Lastly, the 1461/Penton shoe combination elevates the traditional 1461 Oxford shoe, but once again incorporates the oxblood leather, but also keeping the traditional black laces from the 1461 shoe, retailing for $290 USD. With the loafer shoe being a much-adored fall staple and the always beloved boot that Dr Martens is known for being reimagined, this collaboration is perfect for everyone, regardless of their familiarity with either brand. The durability of the leather makes it a needed addition to any closet.

The  Dr. Martens x MM6 Maison Margiela capsule collection is now available on the brands’ websites and in select stores.
