Dsquared2 Goes Boho For FW22

A collection inspired by the avid traveler, the brave jetsetter, and those yearning to explore.

For the wanderlust explorer, the inveterate voyager, the dreamy globetrotter and everything in between. After years of spending most of our time indoors, dealing with the stressors of the pandemic, we have found ourselves yearning to travel and gather with one another more than ever. This exact sensation is the essence of Dsquared2’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection–the constant feeling of wanting to explore, especially sites we have yet to see.

Besides the idea of travel, Dsquared2 was also inspired by what they call the “bohemian traveler.” The bohemian traveler is all about wearing clothes that offer protection, comfort, and remind them of memories of their travels. They enjoy multi-layer silhouettes and combining different fabrics together, all while maintaining an earthy color palette of warm neutrals, forest greens, dark reds and bark browns. FW22 keeps this theme, but brings the freewheeling spirit to life with a Dsquared2 twist.

Like the hidden wonders of the world, hidden glittery stones glimmer in a long tunic tulle skirt in the first look. The design, paired with a striped knit and oversized washed jeans, emulates the rest of the collection, which is all about soft prints and oversized styles. This includes the outwear, ranging from gigantic vests and puffers, and the variety of velvet and loose-cut dresses that delicately wrap around the body. Other dresses focus on the print itself, such as graphic print silks and tulle embroidery, and were layered over/with denim, shearling vest or a puffer–a detail common with Dsquared2’s DNA.

Fringe, leather and suede make an appearance in the collection, from the outwear all the way to the accessories. Jackets are constructed with multiple pockets, velvet cords and/or felt hoodies, while mini leather skirts, that mimicked the same vibe as the outwear, were paired with graphic tops and knits. The line-up of clothing was also worn with accessories that incorporated the same fabrics, including fringe booties, suede, lace-up moccasins and clogs.

Instead of handbags and clutches, Dsquared2 substituted the accessories for shearling backpacks and padded duffle bags, which either fit snugly under the arm or loosely over the shoulder. And different from the brand’s previous collections, the jewelry is adorned with beads, silver metals and bells that make gentle sounds with every movement. Overall, the collection is perfect for Dsquared2’s travelers to venture into the world, hoping to connect with the sounds and bliss of nature, and bring peace and love wherever they go.
