Edge and sophistication, mixed with an innate sense of modernity, define Dsquared2’s new Spring/Summer 2027 collection. With full collections for both men and women, Dean and Dan Caten set out to dress the world’s coolest and chicest girls and guys.

Inspired by the all-encompassing romance and teenage angst that perpetuates Baz Luhrmann’s “Romeo + Juliet,” these pieces reflect devotion, masculinity mixed with vulnerability and rawness. “The Dsquared2 guy has nothing to prove and even less to hide,” said the brand’s representative. “Commanding in his presence, he bares his emotions with disarming confidence.”

Tailoring is a major part of this collection, though not in the conventional way you might expect. The construction behind the garments is subtly revealed, emphasizing the models’ bodies and the way the clothes fall against them. Crosses, crystals, distressed denim, blazers, and prints add to the collection’s eclectic mix. As the brand puts it: “No contradictions to resolve. Tough guy or tender soul? Both.”

The women’s collection, a compatible lover to its menswear counterpart, is reminiscent of ’80s pop culture and aesthetics. “The Dsquared2 girl comes intentionally undone,” said the brand. “Unapologetically sensual and instinctively rebellious, she sheds the layers, exposing a more intimate side beneath her defiant attitude. Her innocence is tinged with irreverence, her vulnerability worn with unabashed confidence. Free from pretense and inhibition, she reveals her true self.”

Similar to the exposed tailoring in the men’s collection, women’s lingerie is designed intentionally to peek through and surprise. Cropped jackets, plunging necklines and bold colors and prints show that the Dsquared2 girl is confident and beyond cool. This, of course, is further proved with silk dresses that hug the body in all the right ways. The Roxy Bag also returns along with minimalist sandals, charms and embellished belts. “She’s no damsel in distress. Saint or sinner?”
