Dsquared2 Teams Up With Pepsi for New Capsule Collection

The collection calls back to an era before spiked seltzer.

Nostalgia is in the air at Dsquared2. For their latest Spring/Summer 2020 capsule collection, the label has partnered with Pepsi for their limited edition #D2XPEPSI collab, adding an ’80s flair to Dsquared2’s street-smart style. Designers Dean and Dan Caten have adopted the soda monger’s “high-energy fun” associated with their advertising in the ’80s and ’90s and even upgraded their signature maple leaf logo with Pepsi twist.

For those who don’t remember the “Cola Wars” of the late 1980s and early ’90s (not to be confused with the Cold War of the same period) occurred between Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola. The two brands battled for dominance of the then-booming soda market—not unlike the spiked seltzers of today—but the result of the competition led to some iconic marketing campaigns. Although the war has since subsided, Pepsi has maintained its aesthetic edge today.

The collection features 43 distinct items, most of which prominently display the Dsquared2 maple leaf and Pepsi logo. We’re personal fans of the fanny pack serving us a little bit of Gen Z street style, a little bit of vintage elementary-school lunchbox (in the best way.) You can expect the vibrant designs in the spring of 2020 at all Dsquared2 retail locations, but until then you’ll have to just drink your Pepsi like everyone else.
