Eckhaus Latta Ate It

Eckhaus Latta Ate It

Alexa Karolinski and Eckhaus Latta present their newest film, Dinner, premiering exclusively on This release marks their ongoing collaboration and shared desire to expand on the format of the fashion film. Dinner features a cast dressed in Eckhaus Latta’s S/S '13 collection, concealed by clear garment bags that operate as full-body-bibs. The video shows guests preparing food while intermittently grooming each other: nails are painted as potatoes are peeled, hair is done as vegetables are pureed. With nonchalance, these interactions make transparent the arbitrary processes behind feeding and beauty rituals.

White foods serve as the backdrop to brightly colored gravies and dressings. The guests allow themselves to devour and vandalize their efforts. All actions prompt participants to engage the food in a manner analogous to dressing and the creation of an  Eckhaus Latta garment.

Previous collaborations between the designers (Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta) and Karolinski have included a video series installed in New York's Opening Ceremony and the award-winning Uniform, premiered at
