Eddie Huang’s directorial debut pays homage to Pop Smoke With Capsule Collection

Movie, soundtrack and merch out now

Eddie Huang’s directorial debut Boogie, starring a posthumous performance by Pop Smoke, is celebrated with a collectible film-themed capsule collection.

The Pop Smoke x Boogie lineup promises posters priced at $20, t-shirts for $35, crewnecks $65 and hoodies for $70. Graphics and prints plastered across the merch draw inspiration from vintage trading cards and noticeably feature references to the late rappers character, Monk, in the film. The collection is now available to shop here.

Boogie‘s soundtrack also dropped Friday, notably featuring new Pop Smoke tracks. The original motion picture album was curated and released by Victor Victor Worldwide and Republic Records in partnerships with Focus Features.

In a statement to Complex Victor Victor Worldwide CEO Steven Victor said, “Eddie’s project was a welcomed opportunity to work with him and I’m proud of what the soundtrack represents. I’m excited for Pop’s acting debut—for his fans to experience this side of his talent—and hope that the music we’ve put together gives fans around the world a piece of Brooklyn.”

The movie follows the coming-of-age story of Alfred “Boogie” Chin, as he navigates high school, his dream of playing in the NBA, a new girlfriend, on-court rivals and the burden of expectation. Boogie is out now available exclusively in theaters in the US and Canada — watch the trailer below.
