Elaine Welteroth Teaches Designing The Career of Your Dreams With MasterClass

Hot topics include “Uncovering Your Zone of Genius,” “Building Your Career Blueprint,” “Navigating Cancel Culture” and “Taking the Leap to Be Your Own Boss.”

Elaine Welteroth launched a new class around designing your career with MasterClass on Thursday.

Expanding its Business category, the educational subscription-based streaming platform brought on Welteroth to teach viewers how to discover their defining passions, values, skills and talents — and to then use them to design a personal career path. An award-winning journalist, New York Times bestselling author, TV host and former editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue, Welteroth certainly knows a thing or two about seizing opportunities and crafting a unique career based on your interests.

With working from home challenging people’s conceptions of what a job really looks like, Welteroth’s class is timely in that it hopes to inspire viewers to feel comfortable with change and reevaluate their path outside of the typical corporate structure.

“This class is for all the creative entrepreneurs, the mid-career pivoters and big dreamers who just need a little bit of help figuring out how to map out exactly how you’re gonna make all of your career dreams happen in this one lifetime,” said Welteroth. “The reality is there is no one-size-fits-all approach to success. Your approach needs to be custom designed for you, and I want to help you craft the plan to make it happen.”

Sharing stories from her own career, Welteroth provides the tools to help members build the career of their dreams, including unearthing what she refers to as the “Zone of Genius” – the sweet spot at the intersection of passions, talents, values and skills -and constructing a “Mind Map.”

She also highlights the importance of mentors, friends and family — relationships and networks that are vital, both personally and professionally. Welteroth teaches members how to navigate the pervasive and damaging feelings associated with imposter syndrome, and gives them the skills to gain their confidence and stave off discouragement from within and without.

Other topics include how to carve out job opportunities, prioritize work-life balance, defeat writer’s block, navigate cancel culture and more.

“As the youngest editor-in-chief hired at Condé Nast and as a leading expert and advocate for the next generation, Elaine has shown that it is possible to build a sustainable career that feeds your soul and individual desires,” said David Rogier, founder and CEO of MasterClass. “With millions of people currently reevaluating their career paths and direction, Elaine gives members the tools and advice needed to create their own path, whether they’re looking to pivot or take a leap toward uncharted territory.”
