Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus to Cover Elton John on New Albums

Who said covers weren't hits?

Who said covers weren't hits?

Not one, but two brand new Elton John albums are on the horizon — but he's not going to be the one singing on them. Two tribute albums, entitled Revamp and Restoration, are due to be released on April 6th. The twin collections will consist of covers of Elton's greatest hits reimagined by some of the greatest artists across pop, rock, country, and R'n'B— and arguably the best choices to take on classics like "We All Fall In Love", "Candle In The Wind", and "Your Song". Many of the artists featured are past collaborators as well, such as Lady Gaga, The Killers, and Queens of the Stone Age. Other artists on the compilations include Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, Florence + the Machine, Coldplay, Sam Smith, and Mary J. Blige.

“It’s always a huge compliment when an artist loves your song enough to take the time and effort to rework it… It means that our music is still relevant and ultimately that our songs continue to reach new audiences," Sir Elton John said of the artists on the cover albums. "We’re humbled and thank them all for their generosity.” Check out the full track lists below.
