Emporio Armani Celebrates Skate Culture In L.A. Pop-Up

The Italian fashion house launches a four-week pop-up at Fred Segal, with a commitment to sustainability and ode to culture

Emporio Armani is unveiling their Spring/Summer 2022 “Sustainable Selection” collection by launching a month-long pop-up shop at Fred Segal, the iconic Los Angeles-based experiential retailer. Beginning March 1, Fred Segal’s Sunset Boulevard flagship will carry the brand’s colorful designs that pay homage to surf and skate culture.

Armani’s Spring/Summer 2o22 collection is a metropolitan, sporty approach to the aesthetic of surf and skate culture. Blending right in with the Southern California store, the pop-up features oversized silhouettes for both men and women, with bright colors of greens, yellows, purples, and pinks, adorned by surfing motifs and psychedelic wave and stripe graphics.

Garments include trench coats, blousons, T-shirts, button-down shirts, shorts, and pullovers made with eco-friendly recycled cotton and nylon blends. With a variety of lengths and prints, an array of fabrics are used including recycled nylon crepe with fluorine-free and water-repellent prints, yarn-dyed ripstop, organic cotton denim, and jersey composed of organic or recycled materials.

Continuing in their sustainable efforts, Emporio Armani is donating a percentage of sales from the pop-up to non-profit Heal the Bay, which mobilizes L.A.’s communities to protect the coastline, restoring waterways, and advocate for clean water across the watersheds.

The pop-up will run through March, with the collection available exclusively here.
