Emporio Armani Strips Back

For Fall 2022, the Milan house defines their source of glamour.

In the coed presentation of Emporio Armani’s fall 2022 collection, Giorgio Armani intends to strip back the notion of glamour. Taking away the allure and sensual aspects, he intends to leave charm, a sort of magnetism that is charged by honing in on contrasts. His menswear examined the color grey, playing with the neutral color where it ranges from being closer to a shade of white to a grounded black.

Three-piece suits, uniformed berets, wool Bermuda shorts over thigh-high leather boots (Rick Owens?), and jacquard scarves added layers to the ’30s fantasy peppered throughout the show. There were notes of black velvet and ascots accentuated by the lack of collars on shirts for evening wear. While both overwhelming due to having over 122 looks and slightly repetitive, Armani’s vision is still apparent: glamour does not have to be the first priority. Still, an effort in your dress is always a necessity.
