Fear of God Exclusively for Ermenegildo Zegna Has Launched Globally

A menswear collaboration put together by the fashion gods, or more accurately, in Fear of the fashion Gods, luxury streetwear brand Fear of God’s collection with heritage luxury brand Ermenegildo Zegna has launched.
Fear of God Exclusively for Ermenegildo Zegna is the brainchild of two great fashion world, the fresh, young Fear of God, and the experienced, traditional Zegna. FoG’s founder Jerry Lorenzo and Zegna’s Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori have brought this collection about as a way to have an earnest conversation on fashion and utilize their varying perspectives to advance their brands.
These two seemingly different labels, while both renowned for their respective strengths, are redefining their brands from the perspective of the other through this collection. Fear of God’s work is enhanced with refined tailoring and suiting, and Zegna’s traditional works are made easier to wear in a more contemporary fashion.
To celebrate the global launch of Fear of God Exclusively for Ermenegildo Zegna, the brands held two events this past Friday. In the same design and settings as Zegna’s launch in Paris last March, the brand opened a pop-up store in Chengdu, China. For the second celebration, between Milan and Los Angeles, where Sartori and Lorenzo reside, respectively, the duo digitally took guests through the collection in a livestream hosted by Highsnobiety. Michael B. Jordan, Gabrielle Union, and Dwayne Wade were among some special guests at the in-person LA launch, with guests wearing masks inside, of course.
The collection boasts a classic yet high quality wardrobe with pieces that can be worn in numerous different occasions. It’s possible to describe the collection as both sophisticated leisurewear and relaxed luxury, an accurate way of describing each brand itself. With a fresh perspective provided by one brand to the other, these experienced designers were able to enhance one another’s work and produce a refreshing collection for menswear.
These two different brands truly came together into one voice, with an enriched collection that educates the audience both on how challenging it can be to remain contemporary as well as the importance of the history of craft and technique.
