‘Euphoria’ Returns Tonight With Special Jules-Centric Episode

Stream “Part Two: Jules” tonight at 9 PM EST on HBO Max.

Euphoria returns to HBO Max tonight with the second of their special episodes, centering on Jules (played by Hunter Schafer) in the aftermath of the events of season one.

In the trailer, we witness Jules’ narration following her departure from the train station (sans Zendaya’s character Rue) in the cliffhanger ending of Euphoria’s debut season.

“Rue was the first girl that didn’t just look at me,” says Jules, narrating the trailer in a voiceover. “She actually saw me. The me that’s underneath a million layers of not me.”

Since the trailer dropped earlier this week, fans have been speculating on what the episode will entail. While part one of the special episodes centered on Rue and took place entirely in a diner, cataloguing a single, sobering conversation from start to finish, Jules’ episode anticipates a variety of scenes and characters coming into play; in the trailer, we see flashes of her childhood, of her father, of her taking sultry photos in her bedroom, kissing a mystery man (which many viewers anticipate to be season one antagonist Nate), wandering at the beach and lying in bed with Rue.

While Euphoria is confirmed to be returning for a second season, the release date is unclear due to COVID filming restrictions. However, the duo of special episodes released in the meantime certainly give viewers much to grapple with: what happened to Jules after she got on the train in season one? What will we learn from her side of the story, as we learned in Rue’s special episode that she was an unreliable narrator throughout season one?

Stream part two of Euphoria’s special episodes tonight at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT on HBO Max.
