Barker, a drummer for the rock band Blink-182, got down on one knee this past Sunday, Oct. 17 at the Rosewood Miramar hotel in Montecito, California according to E! News. The romantic proposal took place seaside, with the happy couple standing in the sand amidst an elaborate red rose and candle arrangement. To make the moment even more picturesque, Barker proposed right at sunset around 6:30 p.m., shares an E! News source.  

In classic, close-knit Kardashian style, Kourtney celebrated her engagement with sisters Khloe and Kim and mother Kris Jenner, who surprised the newly engaged couple at the hotel restaurant after the proposal, writes E! News. Kim proceeded to celebrate the engagement with a tweet of Kourtney and Barker kissing, captioning “KRAVIS FOREVER.” Kourtney’s Instagram post of the proposal also donned the caption “forever,” with fiancé Barker commenting “FOREVER.” Well, it looks like they’re in it for the long run.  

As to how the couple came to be engaged, you may wonder, it actually all happened rather quickly. According to E! News, the couple was rumored to begin dating in December 2020 and announced their relationship on Instagram for the first time in February 2021, but were neighbors and close friends beforehand. After going public, the couple have been seen all over together—in Italy, at Disneyland, on the beach—in outings full of PDA, shares TMZ.      

If you’ve been keeping up with the Kardashians over the years, then you’ll remember that long before Barker came into the picture there was Kourtney’s on again off again love interest, Scott Disick. The father of the ex-couple’s three kids—Mason, Penelope, and Reign—Disick is still present in Kourtney’s life as the pair coparents. Despite having been on and off together for over a decade, Kourtney and Disick never got married and Disick shared his support of Kourtney’s new relationship during the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion, writes E! News. 

“I think if you really love somebody, right, you want them to be happy no matter what,” said Disick, the founder of clothing brand Talentless. “So, I do give her a blessing to be happy.” And happy they seem to be.
