Everything We Know About YEEZY Gap So Far
The long-awaited collaboration between the rapper and one of his favorite clothing brands.

Following up on the recent unveiling of his upcoming YEEZY Gap partnership at the end of last week, the rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West shared an image of a message that has appeared on the covering of a GAP store in Chicago over the weekend. And as a matter of fact, it couldn’t have been more Kanye.
The message reads:
Thank God
Hi Chicago it’s me
This is [the] Gap store
I used to shop at when
I would drive my Nissan
from the southside
so blessed
I thank god and I am
so humbled at the
opportunity to serve
I put my heart into the
color palette and every
detail I love Tron the original
Do you like stuff
I don’t know what to do with
my hands
Love YEEZY

Several days ago, the rapper has shared a teaser shot for the upcoming collab, indicating that the collection will be built around classic everyday staples including hoodies, cargo pants, quilted jackets and accessories in a range of bold colorways. Thought the information regarding the new collection is relatively scarce, it has been announced that London-based designer Mowalola was appointed the Design Director of YEEZY Gap.
According to Business of Fashion, the aforementioned multi-year deal was inked on Thursday, June 25 and is set to hit the market in 2021. The drops will feature garments meant to be worn by men, women and children, all available via Gap’s online and brick-and-mortar retail.
Kanye’s relationship with Gap is a deeply personal one; as a teen, he started off work a customer services job for the brand’s Chicago location (as referenced on the track “Spaceship.”) He has then moved on to shadow the label’s then-creative director Patrick Robinson back in 2009, sparking the first rumors regarding the artist designing specifically for the brand.
