Held at the Hawley Warf in East London, Gucci launched it's London edition of the latest installment of wristwear with the new Gucci Grip watch. Inspired by the function of grip tape, the watch pays homage to the underground skateboarding community bringing it to the forefront of fashion. The private party was a representation of the collection's aesthetic held in a fluorescent-lit barebones warehouse with projections of street art inspired-campaign images on the walls. Rapper, actress, and London-native Little Simz gave a live performance wearing a 70s-inspired lime green suede pantsuit from Gucci's cruise 2020 collection. The house party feels garnered a long guest list including Jamie xx, Kano, Princess Julia, Goat Girl, Mimi Xu, Alex Lawther, Rhea Dillon, Dan Fisher Eustance—lots of musicians, skaters and young artists who snacked on ice cream sandwiches and sipped champagne all night.
