Experience TERMA with Roland Mouret’s SS22 Collection
Roland Mouret showcases their SS22 collection with a collaborative film.
Trading in runways for film, Roland Mouret gave director Magaajyia Silberfeld the opportunity to introduce the Spring/Summer 2022 collection in TERMA: a short film that celebrates the power of the female collective and identity. The director herself stars in the film, where she provides a unique and modern interpretation of a Greek mythology centered around Ulysses, an epic hero. But to add a twist to the ancient myth, it is told from the perspective of Hera, who is the protagonist of the film. Throughout the course of the 13-minute film, Hera is shown on a path of self-discovery as she saves and redirects Ulysses on his own journey.
As a way to kick off London Fashion Week, the film debuted on Sunday morning at the SoHo Hotel in London. It provided a magical look at the world of Roland Mouret and the craft of Silberfeld, who collaborated with writer and director, Elias Borst, to produce the film. Roland Mouret himself worked directly with Silberfeld to capture the essence of the bright collection. This was his way of continuing his mission to highlight female voices—just look at his inspiration and message from his previous collections.
SS22 is inspired by texture and touch, which is often expressed and shown throughout the film. And much like the brand’s previous designs, SS22 is just as expressive when it comes to its color palette, except it revolves more around the silhouette. From floor-length gowns to abstract blouses, SS22 embodies your typical Greek summer with designs that are more loose in fit, lightweight for long, hot days and filled with eye-catching prints. You will also recognize some of the brand’s iconic details, such as ruffled necklines and ribbon belts. The entire collection is meant to be easy-to-wear and a timeless addition to your closet. But like everything Hera embodies, Mouret wants customers to gain a sense of optimism and empowerment from this collection.
