For execs at Facebook, 2018 has been a year of scandal management and self-defense (throwback to when they improperly sold the data of almost 87 million people). Now, it seems the social networking site is finally ready to move forward; reports are circulating that its upcoming dating feature is now being tested in-network.

According to HYPEBAE, users will soon have the chance to activate "Facebook Dating" to connect with other users, ages 18 and over, who have turned on their dating settings. Matches, informed by data from each individual, will be able to use the platform to chat instantly. It sounds like the blueprint for any old dating app until one considers that "Facebook Dating" will permit users to identify as one of five different genders: Woman, trans woman, man, trans man, and non-binary.

Check out screenshots from the feature's soft launch below. Hopefully it will be fully up and running by the time cuffing season rolls around.
