Falconeri Celebrated its Ultrafine Cashmere with Immersive ‘Galleria Falconeri’ Event at The Brant Foundation

The exhibition celebrated the brand’s signature material, cashmere, through painting, light, and food

As the leaves begin to warm in New York City and the wind chills, cotton linens are slowly being replaced by heavy wools. Autumn is here, and who better to kick off the cashmere season than Falconeri, a brand that holds the material close to its core identity.

On October 14th, Falconeri took over the Brant Foundation in New York City’s East Village to host ‘Galleria Falconeri,’ an immersive showcase of its signature Ultrafine Cashmere. Central to the gallery was the idea of cashmere as an artistic medium, like painting or singing. Through intricate weaving and expertly crafted textiles, the material is twisted, pulled, and sewn into an array of unique installations. By presenting such a varied ensemble of pieces, with some installations framed and others employing cashmere in highly discreet ways, the gallery invites guests to rewrite notions of what the material can be.

“Falconeri has always been rooted in the beauty of exceptional natural fibers and Italian craftsmanship, and tonight brings those values into conversation with art, design, and contemporary culture. New York felt like the perfect place to tell that story,” said Sandro Veronesi, Chairman of Oniverse, Falconeri’s parent company.

Central to the intermingling of artistic voices was the work of Paris-based artist Tiffany Bouelle. Working inside the gallery, Bouelle created paintings live, bringing guests into the realm of influence over her work. Another influence on both her work and the cashmere surrounding her was Flos, an Italian lighting company that Falconeri partnered with for the exhibition. In controlling where lights were placed, focus and emphasis became controlled as well, just as a painter would consider when creating works of their own.

The night culminated in a dinner, in which cashmere played yet another artistic purpose. A massive 23-meter curtain of the fabric hung from the wall and over the dining table as a runner, Falconeri once again intimately bringing the audience into its signature material. In charge of the food was Chef Silvia Barban of LaRina Pastificio & Vino in Brooklyn, combining Italian heritage with a New York edge.

A distinguished cast attended the event, including Uma Thurman, Katie Holmes, Jason Bard Yarmosky, Ashley Benson, Liev Schreiber, Brittany Snow, Bailey Bass, Adam DiMarco, Anthony Ippolito, Austin Scott, and Highdee Kuan. The attendees experienced the presentations, but also contributed to the concept of bringing art forms closer to one another, all in service of the greater exploration.
