An unseasonably warm autumnal evening set the scene for a celebration honoring Karl Lagerfeld’s legacy with a surprise performance by Mariah Carey, the reigning Queen of pop. The intimate dinner hosted by V invited guests to wander through the Top of the Standard’s transformed space that was enhanced by the evening’s gilded art-deco theme.

After toasting the designer with Perrier-Jouet and The Sexton Irish Whiskey, Alex Pettyfer brought Hudson Kroening on stage to introduce Mariah Carey, who took center stage for a spellbinding performance that only the pop sensation could deliver—performing three hits, “Touch My Body,” “Hero,” and “We Belong Together” to a packed house. After Mariah’s set came to a close, Karl Lagerfeld leapt on stage for a nostalgic moment shared between the two icons. Some of the notable attendees included André Leon Talley, Joan Smalls, Kris Jenner, Yolanda, Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Martha Stewart, and Naomi Campbell among others.
