Although New York Fashion Week had yet to officially start, FENDI and luxury e-commerce platform Moda Operandi took the Tuesday before the industry’s marquee moment to celebrate the comeback to the storied Y2K icon, the Spy Bag. An evening of caviar bumps, beats from Paul Sevigny, and a melange of fashion’s inner circle mixed and mingled to toast the revival of the Maison’s coveted style.
Born from the creative spirit of Silvia Venturini Fendi, the FENDI Spy Bag was originally launched in 2005 and quickly became a worldwide closet crush. The name originates from the bag’s intrinsically secretive structure, with a hidden pocket concealed under the flap that can be opened through a disguised button.
The guest list reflected the Spy Bag’s cultural reach, spanning actors, models, editors, and creatives. Among those in attendance: Lindsay Lohan, Alisha Boe, Ivy Getty, Kelsey Merritt, Odessa Young, Olympia of Greece, Tessa Brooks, and Marianna Hewitt, many dressed head-to-toe in FENDI.
With the reinvented Spy Bag tucked under their arms, fashion’s luminaries enjoyed a refined culinary experience with passed hors d’oeuvres, Frites Maison, and playful caviar bumps, as Paul Sevigny provided the night’s soundtrack through a luxe set of turntables.Â
