FENDI Expands Style Empire with New German Boutique
The new space pairs architectural grandiosity with FENDI’s classic collections for an elevated shopping experience
Königsallee, the renowned fashion district in Düsseldorf, Germany, is now home to FENDI’s latest boutique. The dual-level, 460 sqm space will house both women’s and men’s full collections, showcasing an aesthetic design through a double height void emphasized by LED arches, inspired by the facade of the house’s headquarters in Rome.
A stunning floating, mirrored walkway constructed out of glass connects a glass elevator with the rest of the first floor and leads your focus to the products, treating them as if they were works of art.
VIP guests have access to an attention-grabbing, yet intimate private area with azul metal walls and a light blue marble floor, enclosed by lush, ivory velvet curtains. This special lounge offers a selection of FENDI Casa furniture and holds a virtual sale niche, concealed by sliding walls and a marble backdrop.
The boutique’s grand opening was celebrated with a customized white canvas Peekaboo bag by German contemporary artist Pepi Erdbories, whom FENDI tapped to customize via the lens of her own artistic vision. The Baodt Art Gallery-represented artist combines text with abstract art to draw viewers into the pieces, inviting them to connect their own stories to them. The bag features two handwritten messages by the artist, painted in the iconic FENDI yellow.
A special selection of historical Peekaboo bags designed by other famous international artists, designers and celebrities is displayed by the Italian house. The selection serves as a tribute to craftsmanship, design and the art world, as well as the iconic bag itself. Bags customized by icons such as Cara Delevingne, Georgia May Jagger and Zaha Hadid will also be exhibited.
