As seen in the Fall/Winter 2023 collection for FENDI, Silvia Venturini Fendi, the Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear, pays homage to multipurpose ease with a new bag. A theme that is inherent to the House, the new bag combines two distinct silhouettes- a bucket and a tote bag. The FENDI Origami bag effortlessly embodies the season’s charm. “I think what is really nice is the movement of the bag, that it can be two things in one,” Silvia Venturini Fendi notes. “This duality is very FENDI – as is the idea of something which appears simple but, in reality, is very complex”, she continues.

Deriving from the ancient Japanese folding technique that transforms sheets of paper into storytelling adornments, the FENDI Origami is crafted with intricate construction that features over 38 different pieces, transforming from a cubic bucket shape when the 8 magnets come together at the center, forming a geometrical flower-like figure, to a flat trapezoidal tote.

Details incorporated on the bag include small leather straps on the sides that serve as functional openings for the bag when pulled, further exemplifying the FENDI Origami’s playful spirit that is distinctive of the house. Complementing the outside of the bag is an enchanting pendant that features signature golden metal FENDI Roma lettering. The Origami can be worn as a shoulder bag for convenience, or be folded into a stylish bucket bag.

Three size offerings are fit for every kind of FENDI shopper, including a large carry-all, an everyday medium size, and a chic mini that features longer handles for easier shoulder wear. The bag is expertly handcrafted by FENDI artisans, with leather meticulously grained and enhanced by sophisticated and autumnal tones such as black and white, taupe, and bright ciclamino pink. The Maison’s timeless FF logo jacquard is painted across a classic tobacco-brown shade.

The Origami is available to shop at FENDI boutiques and on fendi.com.
