Fendi Launches Limited-Edition Capsule Collection
The drop marks the first line designed by Kim Jones to be available at stores.
Following Kim Jones’ first Fendi collection since his appointment as Artistic Director at the house, the label is launching today an exclusive capsule inspired by the designs showcased at his debut Spring/Summer 2021 couture show.
The limited-edition capsule will expand on the romantic, androgynous air of the SS21 set, which was largely inspired by Virginia Woolf’s classic novel Orlando. Woolf was associated with the 20th-century British intellectual society known as the Bloomsbury Group, whose women opted for gender non-conforming behavior and clothes to express their personal freedom.
The capsule features relaxed, flowy silhouettes along with sharp, tailored pieces that bring elegance and sensibility together in neutral colors. A highlight is a structured jacket that features a Victorian-era-inspired collar and buttoning translated for the modern woman.
The long, white sleeveless dress comes in an ample cut that gives the wearer the effect of a floating goddess. In contrast, a dark silk dress features a fitted vintage-style delicate cleavage, with a twisted rose-knot detail that makes it look like the entire piece converges there.
Accessories include soft knee-high boots and reimaginations of the Peekaboo and the Baguette handbags – the latter coming with coordinating pearl linings. In jewelry, the main event is the oversized pearl drop earrings with rhinestone details, along with minimalistic ear cuffs.
The capsule will be exclusively available for only two weeks starting April 15 at nine Fendi locations worldwide: Miami Design District, Beverly Hills Rodeo, London, Paris, Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing. It also marks the first Fendi collection by Kim Jones to hit stores.
