FENDI Men Drops Dreamy SS22 Advertising Campaign
FENDI has released their men’s Spring/Summer 2022 campaign, featuring pastel crochet tops, lavender sunglasses, and… swim caps?
The new FENDI Men’s Spring/Summer 2022 advertising campaign is nothing short of dreamy. Shot on the rooftop of the Italian fashion house’s headquarters at Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in Rome, the campaign brings their SS22 runway show to life thanks to the creative direction of Italian artist Nico Vascellari.
The campaign is dropping at the right time, providing us with a “playful escape from reality” by playing with mirrors and reflections and staging models in front of a setting Roman sun. The colors of the collection, which was designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, scream dreamy Italian summer, with pastel pink, lavender, and pistachio as the focal points.
The lighter colors are contrasted by much harsher graphite and slate, playing up the reflection elements of the campaign and adding the contrast of dark and light, making the transient skies that much more noticeable. The intended effect: “Reflections on watching the world from above,” FENDI says in a statement.
To add to the dreamlike campaign, linen silk and crochet fabrics are covered in an abstract FENDI Earth topographic print. A cartographic map of Rome, found in the FENDI archives, has been reworked into FENDI Land, an illustrated print featuring freehand versions of the iconic FF logos, adding to the theme of a distorted reality. The campaign also includes pieces from the FENDI X ARENA collaboration, featuring a swim cap and goggles.
The campaign features seven single and seven double-page visuals, photographed by Mattia Zoppellaro, as well as a video, shot by Giulio Tami. It was styled by menswear stylist Julian Ganio.
The Men’s SS22 Collection is now available as a prelaunch in select boutiques, and on Fendi.com.
