To celebrate the Italian house’s centennial, FENDI announces Fonderia FENDI, a new collectible design installation debuting at Design Miami 2025. Developed by Conie Vallese, a Milan-based Argentinian designer, Fonderia FENDI merges Italian craft with the forces of femininity.

Fonderia FENDI presents a collection of one-of-a-kind objects produced by five revered Italian alteliers and crafted using a variety of materials from metal, ceramic, and leather.

“For me, FENDI’s story is so deeply intertwined with ideas of family, femininity, and craftsmanship , and all that resonates closely with my own practice,” says Vallese.

The installation also features the FENDI Peekaboo bag, reworked for the anniversary. Vallese describes her experience interacting with the house’s iconic bag: “The Peekaboo bag is timeless and was fun to reinterpret. When I visited Rome, I explored the archives of FENDI and saw all the reinterpretations that have been done over the years to the Peekaboo bag.”

FENDI’s legacy inspired Vallese throughout her conception of the installation, with themes of transformation and reinvention at the heart of the collection. Vallese explains, “My initial approach was to think about their legacy, especially in the context of FENDI’s 100-year anniversary and knowing that it is a house that continuously reinvents its codes through craft. I also began to reflect on transformation: how materials, like emotions, can be shaped, molded. I wanted the pieces to feel timeless and human — optimistic in its palette of soft yellows and pale blues — and to celebrate imperfection as a form of truth.”
