Amandla Stenberg will be the new face of Fenty Beauty, the brand announced on Instagram. The actress, who has appeared in The Hunger Games and The Hate U Give will be an exclusive ambassador and additional celebrity for Rihanna's cosmetics.

“I wanted to become a part of the Fenty Family because it’s one of the few beauty brands that make me

feel like myself! Fenty Beauty’s whole ethos makes me feel empowered and excited to let different

facets of myself shine,” said Stenberg in a recent press release.

Fenty Beauty and Stenberg's views align perfectly, in that they both want to see more diversity and inclusivity in Hollywood. The 20 year-old is known for being outspoken about her views on inequality in society. Like that tweet in 2015, that said: "What would America be like if it loved black people as much as it loves black culture?”

The makeup industry has always catered to white women and lighter complexions. And continues to do so. Despite there being brands specifically made for darker colors, larger, mainstream brands have failed to expand their shade spectrums. Even in the film/fashion/music industry, WOC have reported times when make-up artists wouldn't have the correct tone for them. Which is why and when Rihanna came to the rescue. She took the stance of releasing her large range of shades to make, "everyone feel beautiful and recognized, no matter their race, ethnicity, culture or personal style."

In a revolutionary step, Rihanna released products that suit all skin tones. Lipglosses, bronzers, highlighters and more in a few colors. But then foundations and concealers in over 40 shades. The range branches out with shades for varying undertones.
