Ferragamo’s models take the runway in the brand’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection by walking on a bed of red rose petals. Creative Director Maximilian Davis intertwines the raw physicality of the German Tanztheater with a cultivated and contemporary quality. Drawing from the movement’s colorful choreography, Davis captures a visual conversation between freedom and control that conjures the unrestricted energy of the 1920s and the revivalism of the 1980s. The result is a historically rooted and radically new collection – “harmonies across time.”

The collection’s many silhouettes balance disjointedness with structure. “The surrealist idea of taking everyday objects and making them feel a little disturbed is something I feel very interesting,” explains Davis. “Creating a sense of discomfort in the expected.” Bias-cut silk slips bow to a sense of liberated femininity, detailed with drop-waist lace appliqué and unexpected shearling insets. Leather outwear, informed by the uniform-like precision of the twenties, adds form, while dreamlike prints offer a moment of surrealist disruption.

Davis plays with texture and contrast to deepen the collection’s roots in emotional language. Glossy leather meets the gentle touch of cashmere; all the while, satin trenches cinch the body in movement—similar to the tensions of dance. Feather accents, flattened or trailing like choreography in motion, merge beautifully with Ferragamo’s archival florals blooming across footwear. The brand’s heritage tackles new dimensions in elongated wedge heels inspired by mid-century innovation.

The many garments’ structured form and simultaneously fluid movements are complimented perfectly by the sheer, fur, and pinstripe characteristics. Some of V’s favorite looks from the collection are the cropped, sinched-waisted warm grey pin-striped blazer, matching skirt, and numerous sheer dresses. The motifs of structure and fluidity found within the silhouettes of the garments are complemented perfectly by the muted and natural hues of the collection – various shades of browns, maroons, reds, greys, and blacks.

With this collection, Davis proves that fashion, like dance, is an ever-evolving performance – an expression of the unexpected within the expected.
