Fiorucci Captures L.A.’s Artistry With Hollywood Angels

To showcase the Pre-Spring 2021 collection, Fiorucci launched a platform for 6 LA-based creatives to share their stories and spirit.

From the City of Angels, Italian label Fiorucci is launching a platform for contemporary creatives to express themselves and their individuality, exploring Los Angeles and the icons it bears.

Dubbed “Hollywood Angels,” the platform evokes Fiorucci’s roots: since the brand’s inception in 1967, bringing American classics to the streets of Milan, the label has been a supporter of and platform for up-and-coming talents including Madonna, Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, icons of Fiorucci’s LA concept store in the 70s.

Kacy Hill for Fiorucci’s Hollywood Angels

Fiorucci Angels was a family united by fashion, creativity and influence—one notable member of the family is Rod Stewart, photographed in 1975 by David Montgomery wearing the iconic Fiorucci star arch logo tee.

Now, in a spin on the past and continuation of the spirit of LA classics, Fiorucci is turning to David Montgomery’s son Max to capture 6 Los Angeles-based creatives as they share their artistry, memories of the city, experiences of Fiorucci and their own Hollywood Angels with the Pre-Spring 2021 collection.

“I love that LA can be whatever you want it to be,” said Kacy Hill, LA-based singer-songwriter partaking in Hollywood Angels. The musician went viral in 2014 with a self-released single entitled “Experience,” and toured with Kanye West for the Yeezus tour. “It’s huge and spread out with tons of different neighborhoods, so there’s something for everybody.”

BabyJake for Fiorucci’s Hollywood Angels

Hollywood Angels is also featuring BabyJake, a.k.a Jake Herring, a Florida-born artist with over 35 million streams to date and founder of Daycare record label; Beau, an alt-pop duo making dreamy indie beats with roots in NYC; Blanda Eggenschwiler, former Art Director of the New York Times and Swiss graphic artist and illustrator now freelancing in LA; Carter Ace, singer, rapper and producer from Los Angeles; and Julietta Lunarose, dream-pop artist from New York releasing her upcoming EP Levitate.

“The special feeling of LA comes from the people in it,” said BabyJake. “Everyone is a creative, everyone wants to make something special and new and cool. Most people even want to help one another. I’d say that’s what makes it special.”

Julietta Lunarose for Fiorucci’s Hollywood Angels

Lunarose added: “When I was a little girl, my friends introduced me to Fiorucci in an Italian town called Forte Dei Marmi. All the girls wore the Angels on their shirts and jean shorts, it was like being part of a club. I begged my parents to get me an outfit so I could be part of it. When I see those Angels now, they remind me of falling in love with summers in Italy.”
