FKA Twigs and 645AR Unveil New Collab on ‘Sum Bout You’
The duo we really didn’t see coming.
These days, nothing tends to surprise us anymore. Unlikely music pairs can truly thrive in this quarantine era – at least that could be one explanation for the latest collab between multi-hyphenate artist FKA Twigs and Atlanta-based rapper 645AR. The rapper’s new song, titled “Sum Bout You” and produced by SenseiATL with co-production by El Guincho, features FKA Twigs’s airy voice paired with his unique “squeaky rap” technique. It somehow works.
The music video, conceived by FKA Twigs and directed by Aidan Zamiri, shows 645AR stumbling upon webcam-performer Twigs online and instantly getting hooked. The video shows the artist in multiple scenarios, even one involving a rabbit mask that you have to see for yourself to actually believe.
Last fall, FKA Twigs released her second studio album, MAGDELINE, and has since collaborated with Ty Dolla $ign, mysterious producer Slingbaum, Nicolás Jaar, Headie One and Fred again.., and the 1975.
645AR and his distinctive rapping style gained popularity last year with songs like “Bible and a K” and “4 Da Trap.” His recent singles, “In Love With a Stripper” and “Yoga,” have become popular on social media for their unique sound, primarily on the TikTok app.
