After its first-ever showing at New York Fashion Week last year, Off-White returned to New York to present its Spring/Summer 2026 runway collection. Taking place on a large basketball court on the roof of the New Design High School in the Lower East Side, creative director Ib Kamara centered the presentation around the influence of black culture in pop culture.

The pink and purple hues of the graffiti mural were designed by local New York artists handpicked by Kamara using the Pantone colors of the season. A star-studded crowd sat front row at the show, including Antonia Gentry, Nic Vansteenberghe, Olandria Carthen, and Ellie the Elephant.

Inspired by the rush and urgency of the city for the collection, Kamara took from the 1970s and 1980s influences to call back on times of freedom and ingenuity that were championed even in the toughest of times. Deep V-cut necklines add a dramatic air to varsity stripes, mirrored detailing, and mesh paneling seen across the line.

Kamara labels the individuality in the collection as “invention as resistance, personal expression as a means of survival.” Off-White’s undeniable athleisure formula has worked since the brand’s early beginnings, and now the “uniform” that the brand has established is used as a means to communicate culture and current societal trends.

Off-White is also capitalizing on the rising popularity and fan base for the New York Liberty with a new capsule for the basketball team (hence the guest appearance of Ellie the Elephant), and also working with sustainable New York-based brand Brigade on t-shirts seen on the runway. Swarovski crystals add shine to the more glittering items of Off-White’s SS26 drop.

Kamara’s move to make Off-White centered on the pulse of New York will be sure to define the coming decade for the brand.
