Funk Legend Steve Arrington Releases New Album
Listen to the album that’s been years in the making with some of this generation’s favorite producers.
Down To The Lowest Terms: The Soul Sessions has been decades in the making, as funk music’s legendary Steve Arrington first envisioned the album as a young man. With majority of its recording taking place in 2019 and this year, Down To The Lowest Terms finally saw the light on Friday via Stones Throw Records with help from founder Peanut Butter Wolf and alongside a new generation of producers.
Knxwledge, J Rocc, Shibo, Jerry Paper, Brian Ellis, Gifted & Blessed, Benedek, Jamma-D, and DJ Harrison make up the list of producers, yet the album flows as one continuous collection of the funk Arrington is known for—the kind that makes grooving along to it inevitable.
On the track “Keep Dreamin,” Arrington’s message was “No matter what, No matter how long it takes, I stay focused and put in the work for dreams to come true.” Listen to Down To The Lowest Terms down below to hear the message and soul of Arrington for yourself.
