GANNI x 66°NORTH Takes Copenhagen for a Joy Ride for SS23
GANNI teams up with 66°NORTH to bring chic technical outerwear to Copenhagen Fashion Week
On a warm sunny day by the pier in Copenhagen, a champion BMX rider cycles onto the chalk drawing-filled runway. Bass-heavy dance music plays behind Malene Kejlstrup as she kick-starts GANNI’s Spring/Summer 2023 show.
This year, GANNI has teamed up with Icelandic heritage brand 66°NORTH as a part of the SS23 collection. Marking the third collaboration between the two labels, GANNI x 66°NORTH is a meeting of GANNI’s effortless Copenhagen style and 66°NORTH’s Icelandic heritage of extreme outdoor clothing.
“I’m super proud to be working with 66°North for the third time; they make the best outerwear that you just want to wear everywhere,” states Ditte Reffstrup, Creative Director of GANNI. “The more we work together, the more we learn from each other, and there’s this great level of trust when it comes to experimenting and trying out new responsible solutions. That’s what makes this collaboration so special; I love the colors that are inspired by Iceland, one of the most beautiful places on earth. I can’t wait to share it with everyone at our SS23 show.”
The collection’s colorway consists of hues of green, yellow, and turquoise blue mixed with classic black, which were inspired by Iceland’s most striking natural wonders; the northern lights and volcanic landscape.
With garments made exclusively from unused fabrics like recycled nylon and polyester, a little GANNI twist lends the technical outerwear a playful and versatile feel. GANNI girls strut down the pier in color-block nylon jackets and coordinating pants, vests, and a bucket hat.
