A celebration of modern girlhood and self-expression, Gap has announced a limited-edition collection in collaboration with NY-based designer Sandy Liang, launching on October 10th. The collection will include both women’s and kids’ apparel and combines Gap’s timeless style with Sandy Liang’s signature aesthetic.

“Sandy’s Dream Closet”, an animated film by visual artist Annie Choi, brings the collection to life. Based on Liang’s upbringing in New York City, the film visualizes her imaginative childhood and early interest in fashion. As a young Liang imagines what the future of fashion may look like, her dreams materialize into the Gap x Sandy Liang collaboration, where her self-expression and childhood nostalgia become manifest.

Gap’s versatile silhouettes merge with Sandy Liang’s whimsical designs to create playful, wearable looks. The collection includes a variety of denim pieces met with feminine twists, such as the Pleated Denim Mini Skirt, while outerwear draws from Sandy Liang’s signature details, with the Bow-Back Trench Coat boldly displaying the brand’s cult-classic bow motif.

“Growing up, Gap was the pinnacle of fashion. It’s incredible that I get to co-create with such an iconic brand that I treasured so much as a child, yet is still so relevant today,” says Sandy Liang. “‘Sandy’s Dream Closet’ illustrates how wearing Gap made me feel growing up as I imagined being an adult one day and who I could be. I wanted to take the pieces that meant something to me as a kid and reimagine them through my lens today — celebrating girlhood in all its forms, while honoring the iconic styles that make Gap so timeless.”
