On August 8, 2025, Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre hosted the debut of Gaurav Gupta’s first bridal couture collection. In partnership with Chivas Luxe Collective Perfumes and in collaboration with Italian maison Rene Caovilla, Quantum Entanglement unfolded as an immersive take on the contemporary Indian wedding.
Inspired by the theory that two particles remain eternally connected, Gupta translated this cosmic idea into couture that mirrored the emotional synchronicity of marriage rituals. The show opened with his signature cocktail and reception wear, including saree gowns, sculpted lehengas, and architectural dresses influenced by Art Nouveau and glacial landscapes.

The collection’s colors ranged from soft blush and gold to graphite, black, and electric blue, each shade elevated by exceptional craftsmanship. Banarasi brocades woven over 200 days, crystal webs, hand-cut florals, Chantilly lace reimagined into modern forms, and mother-of-pearl inlays with an heirloom touch transitioned naturally into the menswear. Here, sharp tailoring for the modern groom took shape in classic tuxedos, bandhgalas, and jackets adorned with safety-pin lapels, planetary beadwork, and metallic accents in obsidian, graphite, and midnight navy.
The crescendo came in a ten-look bridal segment, Gupta’s most ambitious yet. Vermilion red lehengas shimmered under 60,000 bugle beads and zardozi florals, pastel gowns in blush and sage carried ethereal ombré beadwork, and the house’s iconic cascading lehenga silhouette was reborn in gilded Banarasi brocade. Cathedral-style veils trailed like architectural halos, designed to frame rather than hide the bride.

For the first time, the designer also introduced a groomswear capsule in pearl, blush quartz, and ivory, blending Indian craftsmanship with a confident modern edge. The finale saw Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra take the runway in engineered couture styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, their presence capturing the elegance and drama of his vision for the wedding in future tense.
In its entirety, Quantum Entanglement reflected the modern Indian wedding as both a ritual and a state of mind, where tradition and innovation, artistry and emotion converged to affirm identity and connection. Every detail, from the first step down the aisle to the final bow, was part of a shared narrative, a sequence of moments designed to bind memory, meaning, and the people at its heart.
