GCDS Launches a Spring Summer 2022 Kids Collection

The Italian streetwear brand tapped into the playfulness of childhood for their newest collection.

Italian streetwear brand GCDS launched a new Spring Summer 2022 kid’s collection, just weeks after announcing a partnership with Bratz dolls. The kid’s collection aligns with the brands women’s and men’s collections, in case you are going for a streetwear version of the mommy and me look.

The collection, created in collaboration with Altana Società Benefit, a leading manufacturer of luxury children’s apparel in Italy, draws inspiration from the magic of childhood. Creative Director Giuliano Calza uses bright, playful colors to invoke feelings of freedom and lightness.

The brand’s signature logo detailing gets a childlike makeover, with additions like cats, cherries, and footballs. The collection also features patchwork and bandana prints taken from the main collections to create brand cohesion. It includes staple pieces like sweatshirts and t-shirts, as well as swimwear and other accessories.

The campaign, shot by American photographer Bryce Anderson, aims to capture children having fun in motion to promote a dreamy aesthetic. “For this campaign, Giuliano and I wanted to present children in a way that felt chic and present,” says Anderson. “These kids aren’t just smiley and playful pretending behind a camera lens, they are really those kids in the photos.”

The Spring Summer 2022 collection has pieces for newborn babies all the way to pre-teens. It includes the GCDS mini collection for the 0-3 age group, and GCDS junior, for kids ranging from 4 to 14 years old.
