If you open up Instagram or TikTok right now, chances are you’ll find Iris Law fronting fashion campaigns, lip-syncing to the latest viral songs, and giving viewers an inside look at her exciting life. But Iris is certainly much more than meets the eye. As the daughter of actors Jude Law and Sadie Frost, life in the fast line isn’t anything new for the model and actress—but she sure is having fun along the way. “The road to success is so long, I’m just trying [to] enjoy the process as much as possible and look back to learn from it. My job is so addictive, as soon as you finish something, you want to do it again and again.” says the 21-year-old.

Having signed with IMG Models in 2019, and gracing campaigns for some of the biggest houses such as Marc Jacobs, Versace, and DSquared2, Iris has since redirected her path towards acting–landing a dream role portraying Soo Catwoman, the anarchic ‘70s punk icon from the London scene era, for FX’s latest series Pistol–based on the Sex Pistols. “Working on the Pistol set was a whole new experience for me. I feel so lucky to have been pushed out of my comfort zone in so many ways at such a young age.” Now, as the world gets to know what she’s all about, Iris is undeniably defining what it means to be a part of the Gen Z community, and establishing the energy it brings. “[We’re] the generation of change! We don’t wait for something to happen, we make it happen.”

Below, discover an extended Q+A with Iris!

V Magazine: You’ve been a part of the fashion industry, at least so much as attending shows, since you were a little kid. What made you decide to really lean into it as an adult?

Iris Law: I have always been interested in fashion for as long as I can remember. I remember at such a young age staring in the mirror deciding whether to tuck my trousers in or out of my cowboy boots and making my own handbag shoving thin fabric through a printer and tying it with old lace.

V: You’ve mentioned sharing similar views to Stella McCartney on the climate and fashion. Can you expand on this a bit?

IL: I love that Stella invests in the future. She inspires the younger generation to take on the responsibility. I’m not perfect but it’s the small changes that become the big ones.

V: You’re a Scorpio. Do you think that your zodiac sign accurately captures your personality?

IL: I’ve never gotten into zodiac signs but I know that half the time people guess I’m a Scorpio and the other half of the time they say they can’t believe I am

V: Can you tell us about the evolution of your personal style?

IL: When I look back at my style, I think it represents a time in my life. I don’t ever notice it changing until I look back, I always dress and style myself how I feel at the time and will always continue to experiment with my style. I think

V: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

IL: Be brave and embrace the experience of learning the process! It’s not always about the end result.
