Gentle Monster x Moncler Debuts Second Collaboration
The pair has come together for a highly anticipated collection that transcends the physical world in an avant-garde approach to eyewear
Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster has teamed up with Moncler Genius on their second collaboration capsule, a futuristic line of sunglasses launching on Thursday, May 5.
Entitled ‘Swipe,’ the eyewear takes inspiration from the digital practice of swiping that consumes so much of society’s daily lives, from determining emotions, to giving instant gratification, to increasing validation. The theme is imagined through careful accessory design, utilizing swiping mechanisms as closures, depicted by a dynamic and elongated Moncler logo.
Offered in four styles with 99.9% UV protecting black lenses, the Gentle Monster x Moncler collection features goggle-style sunglasses in black and translucent grey, an all-black cat-eye design, translucent red and white acetate frames, and a modern square-style also in black and translucent gray, offered in regular and oversized silhouettes. Each pair is priced between $350 and $465 and adorned with an exclusive Moncler Genius Collection logo highlights the alliance between both brands.
A pop-up event will be held at Gentle Monster’s Seoul HAUS concept store from May 5 through May 30, complete with installations that meld the digital and physical worlds, mimicking the nature of the Swipe.
