With Black Panther less than a week away, what better way to get hyped than up with a soundtrack made just for the groundbreaking Marvel film? The album was produced by Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony Tiffith, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, and none other than Kendrick Lamar.

The 14-track long album is packed with bangers, many of them from TDE, which houses artists like Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, and SZA, who all appear on the album. The Black Panther album also boasts powerhouse artists including 2 Chainz, Anderson .Paak, Ab-Soul, Vince Staples, Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Khalid, and Future. Kendrick Lamar was named executive producer of the album, a fitting choice considering he's been on top of the rap and hip hop game lately, with his 2017 album DAMN. going double platinum and winning the award for Best Rap Album at the 60th Grammy Awards.

Lamar said of his contribution: "Marvel Studios' Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I'm truly honoured to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel's vision."

The album embodies the revolutionary spirit of the film and of the artists featured on its discography. It not only references the film, but the message and undertones conveyed in Black Panther. As an article for TIME notes, “It may be the first megabudget movie—not just about superheroes, but about anyone—to have an African-American director and a predominantly black cast. Hollywood has never produced a blockbuster this splendidly black.” The album and its artists captures this essence perfectly.

The Black Panther soundtrack is available to stream and download via Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify, and Amazon Music. Listen below.
