Get Ready: Stussy And CDG Are Collabing
Pause the holiday shopping, you’re going to want this one for yourself.
In celebration of the brand’s 40th anniversary, Stüssy is teaming up with CDG by Comme des Garçons to create a capsule collection ripe with streetwear-chic garments.
The collaboration is a cross-continental one, with Stüssy hailing from Southern California, and Comme des Garçons being founded in Tokyo. Both brands have grown far beyond their localized roots to become internationally known fashion figures. Now, they’re aiming to capture a street style that belongs both everywhere and to nowhere in particular.
Their capsule collection includes a co-branded green satin nylon military MA1 jacket, a navy pinstripe work jacket, matching pinstripe pants, a range of black and white t-shirts and long-sleeves, a graphic tote bag, and a cream colored bucket hat. The co-branded logo appearing on the hat and shirts shows a group of surfers with their boards, likely a callback to Stüssy’s Cali origins. Meanwhile, the graphic bomber jacket has a globe design on the back overlaid by the words “Stüssy 80-20 CDG,” hinting at the collab’s more global approach.
The campaign imagery was shot by young, London-based photographer Theo Sion. In the blurred black and white images, models can be seen traversing the city streets, all decked out in Stüssy & CDG. Locked in somewhere between skater and prep, the clothing hits the urban youth demographic right on its head.
The collection will be available for purchase at 10am on Friday, Nov. 13 at select chapter stores, Dover Street Market and
Stüssy’s website.
