Get Ziggy With It with Letícia Hall

Model Letícia Hall embodies the glam rock energy of Ziggy Stardust in fall’s boldest looks with photographer Jack Bridgland

“Keep your electric eye on me, babe,” David Bowie sang on the track “Moonage Daydream,” now a classic tune from his foundational 1972 album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The album launched a new chapter of Bowie’s career centered on Ziggy Stardust, a red-haired, bisexual alien glam rockstar sent to save Earth from a pending apocalypse. Ziggy’s look instantly became culturally indelible, and remains so even today, just like Bowie’s work.

Indeed, this September marks the release of The Shel Talmy Recordings, a new compilation of works Bowie made in 1965 with the famed producer; as well as a UK tour of archival memorabilia from the artist’s collection sponsored by the Victoria & Albert Museum that kicks off this November. Bowie, a longtime friend and collaborator of V since the inception of our publication, created a style and sonic language that’s endlessly inspirational.

This fall, it’s personified by new model of the moment Letícia Hall, photographed by Jack Bridgland and styled by Davey Sutton–exciting voices igniting the industry–as they channel Ziggy’s androgyny and avant-garde aesthetic. In flashes of bright red and spirited 1970s insouciance, it’s the embodiment of “I’ll be a rock ‘n’ rollin’ bitch for you,” as Bowie himself would say. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
