Getting Ready: Jesse Jo Stark Attends the Met Gala 2026

Wearing Burberry with her godmother Cher, V got ready with the singer and style icon who proves that nobody does dark glamour quite like her
If you have been paying attention, you already know who Jesse Jo Stark is. The LA-born singer released her debut full-length album, Doomed, in 2022, a record that cemented her signature sound: moody, raw, and steeped in classic rock and Americana with edge. Beyond music, she founded her fashion label, Stark, which has become a cult favorite in the rock and roll fashion world. At the Met Gala 2026, she brought all of that energy to the steps of the Met, arriving in Burberry alongside her godmother, Cher.
Jesse Jo wore a black and brown floral sequined and fringed silk georgette dress pulled straight from the label’s winter 2025 runway, dark and textured. Cher, on the other hand, making her first return to the Met in over a decade, wore a custom Burberry design by Daniel Lee. The black silk tulle twisted dress with a leather corset and a cropped leather jacket with crystal embellishments was a reference to the iconic sheer Bob Mackie look she wore to the very same event back in 1974.
