As the sun set over the desert and the sky turned gold, the energy backstage was electric. Coachella 2025 Weekend 2 was moments away, and XG was getting ready to take the stage with crowd favorites like “WOKE UP,” their early 2024 single, and “IS THIS LOVE” from their mini album AWE. The project that earned them a spot on the Billboard 200.

They opened in vivid red flame-shaped halter tops and marbled wide-leg pants. Crimson eyeliner, electric hair streaks, and colorful face gems elevated the look, adding an extra layer of visual impact. Midway through the set, they transformed. Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Juria, Cocona, Maya, and Harvey returned in pastel pink corseted tops airbrushed to mimic muscle contours, flared pants with grommets, and lace-up gloves that gave the look a futuristic edge.

From backstage glam to a history-making performance, this is how XG got ready.

JURIA:

“Our slogan for 2025 is ‘Do or Die! HESONOO!’ 🐍❤️‍🔥😤💪🏻⤴️ Just like a snake sheds its skin, our LOOK 1 outfits incorporate a snakeskin pattern 🐍🐍🐍.”

“In Week 1, we wore the white version of this look, but Week 2 features the red version, as you can see in the photo 💁🏼‍♀️❤️. This fiery red bursts with passion ❤️‍🔥, drive ❤️‍🔥, and an intense edge ❤️‍🔥, radiating unstoppable energy!”

MAYA:

“The shoes we wore for week 2 Coachella were from GROUNDS!!! I loved how the shoes gave a nice final touch to the red outfit for section 1. My favorite part of the shoe would have to be the clear, red part in the bottom. It gives a nice and unique feel to the whole outfit, and that’s what I love about it.”

HARVEY:

“We talk with our head stylist and decide on our hair and makeup to match the outfit and performance concept each time♡”

“Hair and makeup are one of the ways we express our music☆ If we have time, we spend more time and pay attention to every detail, like texture and atmosphere, until the very end. We believe that’s how we can bring out XG’s color even more strongly ♡.”

HINATA:

“Hair and makeup are also a big part of expressing our color and style. We always focus on how we want to show ourselves, matching the outfit and concept!”

“On this day, since we were wearing red snakeskin jumpsuits and human flesh costumes, I decided on a psycho makeup look with splattered blood to leave a scary, strong impression. We debated between blue or red contact lenses, but we chose red to make the look more intense and reduce the softness.❤️ I didn’t want to go for a typical style, so I also cut my bangs diagonally for a unique and slightly quirky look!”

JURIN:

“We are very particular about our hair and makeup, and we believe that our unique and diverse styles are one of the key elements of XG’s identity. We enjoy transforming and challenging ourselves into different looks each time, aiming to deliver a different look every time to everyone.“

“For this look, I chose pink and red makeup to match the eye makeup on the top of my human flesh costume in Section 2 ❤️‍🔥💕. I paid attention to every detail, including colored contact lenses and red eyelashes. Since we were performing on the Coachella stage, I added some sparkle around my eyes to make them stand out! ⭐️✨.”

COCONA:

“When I was thinking about the hair and makeup for this outfit, I wanted to go for a SKIN BALD look and create makeup inspired by blood, from the head down to the face. The blood theme matched the red snakeskin pattern of the costume, especially with the second outfit, which was designed to resemble the human body, it felt like the perfect fit!”

“I talked with my makeup stylist, and they made it look incredibly cool and powerful in the end! Also, while I usually shave my head at around 1.5mm, this was my first time going SKIN BALD, and I had it done by a fantastic barber!”

“The team around us, including our stylist and hair and makeup artists, is incredibly important in helping to refine XG’s branding, and I have so much respect for them! Thanks to them, I believe XG’s charm is being shared even more with the world. Look forward to what’s coming next!”

CHISA:

“We always do our nails the way we like, and each of us has our own unique style…♡

“Although we’re all wearing the same outfits, each of us is wearing them in our own unique way! Taking a group photo before going on stage is also a moment when all seven of us come together as one, boosting our sense of unity! We’re all fired up and ready to go! ✌🏻✨💜.”

MAYA: 

“The moment we headed to Coachella, it was like, ‘Alright! Let’s goooo!!’ That’s exactly how I felt! LOL. I was filled with excitement and this amazing kind of nervous energy that I’ll never forget!!! Personally, I love that feeling so much, and I was really enjoying every second of it ❤️.”

HINATA:

“Backstage, we did our usual HESONOO team circle! This time, Siena and the dancers joined us in the circle, too. We all shared hugs one by one, received some beautiful words from Siena, and shouted HESONOO together… We became one team, all fired up and ready to go crazy on stage! ❤️‍🔥.”

JURIA:

“After our performance, we all said to each other, ‘Great job!’ and ‘That was amazing!’ Then we formed a circle with all the members, Siena, and the dancers, and did the Coachella Call with a little ‘Coachella♪ Coachella♪ Coachella♪’ step!”
