Getting Ready: Ziwe Takes Her Signature Satire to Paris Fashion Week

Usually the one steering the conversation, Ziwe becomes the subject of a change as she gets ready for Courrèges and Loewe in Paris.

How uncomfortable can an interview get before it becomes comedy? Ziwe has spent years finding out. The comedian and writer has made an art of asking the questions others might avoid, pairing satire with a disarming directness and perfectly timed pauses that have made her interviews unmistakably her own.

After first gaining attention with her online series ‘Baited with Ziwe,’ she brought that particular brand of interviewing to television with her Showtime series ‘Ziwe’ before returning to the internet with her current YouTube show. Whether talking culture, politics, or the absurdities of celebrity, Ziwe has a way of making even the simplest exchange unexpectedly revealing.

For Paris Fashion Week, Ziwe trades the interview chair for the front row. V follows along as she gets ready for the Spring/Summer 2027 shows at Courrèges and Loewe, turning the attention toward the woman usually asking the questions.

“I look very presidential. How do you say ‘commander-in-chief’ in French?”

“Three 6 Mafia once said, ‘Ever since I can remember, I’ve been popping my collar.’“

“This photo can only boost my WikiFeet score… here’s hoping.”

“I love butter yellow almost as much as I love butter.”

“A letter!”

“I love Loewe heels. They’re always so campy, they’re always so unique and sexy.”

“I feel like Uma Thurman in ‘Kill Bill.’ Vengeance is mine.”

“It’s important to take up space, ladies!!”

“They’re going to regret giving me a whistle…”

“BRB, about to head to a fashion show.”
