On October 17th, historic Italian fashion house and designer Giorgio Armani returned to the New York runway circuit for the first time since 2013. Joined by guests in their finest black-tie attire, the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, titled “In Viaggio” (On a Journey), coincided with the launch of Armani’s newest venture: a flagship store on Madison Ave., complete with a restaurant, Armani boutiques, and private residences.
On the runway last night, silk pantsuits, jacquard jackets, beaded sheer blouses, and leather trench coats, (all impeccably tailored for an effortless but composed look) paired seamlessly through a palette of neutral shades: iridescent greys, beige, silver, ivory, black, and blues, along with vibrant salmons, pastels, blush tones, and warm desert colors.
Key elements included flowing silk that moved with the fluidity of a waterfall, shimmering as it caught the light and delicately shifted shades, along with subtle textures from pearl-esque bugle beads and intricate woven details on jackets and overlays enhanced the collection’s dimension.
Accessories like scarves, knit caps, belts woven with silk tassels, and leather handbags complemented the looks and embodied a sophisticated yet effortless energy that reflects Armani’s timeless aesthetic.
The show took place at the Park Avenue Armory and paid modern homage to memories, with star-studded guests gathering to view 90 looks. The number was intentional as a continued celebration of the designer’s nonagenarian birthday this past July.
After skipping Milan and opting for a fabulous double-feature debut in New York, I think I can speak for everyone when I say, thank you, Mr. Armani! We’ve missed you—welcome back!
