For this year’s 80th edition of the Venice International Film Festival, Giorgio Armani gets ready to sail across the blue lagoon to Venice, the Queen of the Sea. On Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, the Italian designer will host the latest show of his One Night Only series. After visiting London (2006), Tokyo (2007), Beijing (2012), Rome and New York (2013), Paris (2014), and Dubai (2021), Armani travels back to a city that holds dear memories of his career.
The designer made a memorable appearance at the Venice International Film Festival in 1990 during the world premiere of Martin Scorsese’s documentary Made in Milan. If at that time Scorsese was honoring Armani’s genius with a short film dedicated entirely to him, now the designer returns the tribute. The One Night Only Venezia will celebrate cinema, the connection he has built throughout the years with the big screen, and the stories that keep inspiring us. Guests will be entertained by a Haute Couture Show before joining the evening party.
The program is designed to have minimum environmental impact and support projects, such as the non-profit organization “We are here in Venice”, that preserve the ecological equilibrium of the Venetian lagoon, restoring its ecosystem and biodiversity.
