Giorgio Armani’s SS21 Womenswear Embraces Past and Future Designs
‘Timeless Thoughts’ showcases Giorgio Armani’s dedication to timelessness.
Giorgio Armani’s SS21 womenswear collection embraces soft fabric and neutral tones to produce a casual-elegant line that chronicles the past and celebrates the future. The collection, Timeless Thoughts, arrives alongside a short documentary chronicling Armani’s rich history and dedication to change.
Dozens of looks were introduced this month for Armani’s womenswear line. The majority of pieces for SS21 are stained with grey and blue tones that embrace simplicity while a handful of looks incorporate sophisticated-floral and relaxed-spring designs.
Armani’s short documentary, narrated by Italian actor Pierfrancesco Favino, echoes the brand’s SS21 collection and explores its long-standing relationship with time and simplistic tradition. The film brings viewers behind the scenes footage of Armani’s past shoots and more recent runway shows.
“…fashion is a reflection of our time, it has the ability to anticipate the future, the changing and the evolution of our society,” Favino narrates. “In Giorgio Armani’s work, this ability to read the present combines with the power to synthesize a mark that leaves its sign with determination.”
Light and bright tones generally outweigh darker pieces for SS21 seasons, but in this collection, Armani embraces, and sometimes favors, heavier tones. Airy silhouettes embody Armani’s casual elegance while uplifting traditional buttons, sequence and abstract patterns.
Armani’s colorways in this piece stay grounded in soft neutral tones but also incorporate various shades of blue. The sea-like designs are patterned up and down the look in various sizes and shapes. Wrapping around the waist is an attached hanging jewelry-like piece also styled with complimenting wrist bracelets in similar tone.
